['bjɛbʒa\] die, rechter Nebenfluss des Narew, im Nordosten Polens, 155 km lang; in ihrer an Sümpfen und Moorwäldern reichen Schwemmlandebene, einer der letzten unberührten Flusslandschaften Mitteleuropas, wurde 1994 südlich von Augustów der Biebrza-Nationalpark (mit 590 km2 der größte Polens) zum Schutz der Vogelwelt (besonders von Schwarz-, Weißstorch, Adler), die 60 % der in Europa vorkommenden Arten umfasst, sowie von Biber, Otter, Elch und Wolf geschaffen.
